Claxhaugh ... Directions please

Where about's is this exactly ?

I fancy some sport tomorrow, and having fished the Tyne recently with our lasses dad and uncle ( both Geordies ) who both out fished me, I'd like to turn things around in mackem land.

Can someone point me in the right direction... Literally

go up hylton road past round robin, through 1 set of traffic lights to mini roundabout, turn right at roundabout follow road for around half a mile will see a new block of flats on your right , turn right there into claxheugh road just follow road come to dead end at river .....bobs ya uncle

not the best spot when weve had a lot of rain. this area and up to the pig farm is quite shallow so gets well flushed with fresh water.

the tides are big now so a couple of hours up and over high might be ok.

last time we were there the grass was really wet so we parked on the road side.

a bit of advice.........

watch out for all the land mines on the grass .. [dog cr4p]
