fished the tide up this afternoon at claxheugh ended up with 8 flounders and 4 small whitings best flounder would be around 1lb6oz. baits used fresh blacks, macky strip and fresh prawns. all but 2 fish fell to the fresh prawns.

prawn is a very, very underated bait, it can on its day account for plenty codling more especially in the rivers / esturies and for flounders is very consistent in the colder months, i prefer british prawns getting them live and shelling them myself but the ones i used today were the thailand raw prawns already shelled out of morrisons and they still seemed to fish ok.

Well done on your session. My mate rates fresh prawns, he always catches fish uses this bait, including codling.
