ah reet,

I am after a good quality rod for clean ground fishing

just thought i would put it out there to get your opinions before i go and buy one

cheers

Love my TTLD, slim, light, excellent bite detection and will put 125 or 150g plus bait a long long way if you want it to. Can cast the 175 as well but you need to take it steady with the cast and not hammer it...

Think there was a ZZippy Primo Match in the classifieds a few days ago for about that amount, cracking clean ground match rod and again will put a bait a long way if you want it to and will handle 175 plus bait with ease.

Not a simple question to answer!

Are you a distance caster or overhead thumper? Looking for power or bite detection?
Are you fishing shingle beaches or storm beaches/sandbars with heavy undertow?
Is the rod for 5oz or 6-7oz?
Multiplier or FS
12ft, 13ft, 14ft,16ft etc??

If you can describe a few of the marks you fish it may help narrow things down a little.

Take a look at the century tip tornado super match ld.
Fantastic light rod that's best on the market by far.

Can you get this in a fixed spool version I'm looking for a century but dont no what they do in a fixed spool other than a black bird but i know thats a good rod ?

Ttsm ld would be way too light for most clean ground marks that I fish, that's why I said you need to be a bit more specific. Most match type rods aren't really suited to fixed spool. Something along the lines of a tip tornado sport or cme would be better but that would be guessing!!

thanks lads for all the replies

Chukka,

with all the questions mate i would like a rod that would be able to cover shingle and sand beaches, also i cast off the ground with a multiplier and use a mix of 5 - 7 oz weights depending on the conditions i am fishing

thanks again lads

If your casting otg then a stiffer tipped and longer rod will be best. As your using a decent lump of lead I wouldn't go too light. something like a Komp s/ Ss, tip tornado sport, sonik nct 6 oz, primo synchro, carbon metal express, anyfish big beach mk 2, clubman are all possibilities. A century blackbird is a nice otg rod but might be a bit long.

If you take a look in the for sale section on here you will pick a rod up at a fraction of the price of a new one mate. There are a few different Century rods up for sale at the moment that would suit what your after.
