Clean it up

Is there a club within the NorthEast that endorses and carrys out a policy of cleaning up before,during or after each match and if not why not.

This is something that needs not to be enforced on club members but it has reached a state were clubs and their membership need to be accountable.
I'm not for one moment pointing the finger of shame or blame solely at the clubs, but as clubs they should lead by example and that example should be a good one, unfortunately I don't believe this to be the case.

i dunno about clubs, but as for them being a example, i agree. The main priority should still be ENFORCING litter policies, even if it means cctv..... i know its a big step, but if people were fined (visable action) then maybe people would think.

I get fustrated when I walk to craster, amazing view, ruined by loads of bait bag's, line, and cans... how hard is it to put it back in the bag??? seriously the cans are much lighter after use, as are the bags.

Well i picked up someone else's rubbish 2day at St Abbs and took it away. No need to be leaving rubbish all over the place.

Me and the wife went to the Bascule today at St.Peters basin ,after walking around the marina and along the river I was disgusted (again) by the mess that supposed anglers had left ,the usual empty bait packets etc. and line wound around two posts and strewn all over the path ,the sort of t*ssers that do this give all anglers in the public eye a bad name .
We don't all want to be frowned upon but this minority of tow rags make us all look bad ....god only knows what their houses must be like

THIS IS A TOPIC THAT WILL RUN AND RUN FOR YEARS TO COME,WHY?
THE COUNTRY IS FULL OF AR*EHOLES AND LIKE ALL AR*EHOLES THEY PRODUCE SH*TE.
SH*TE THAT NEEDS CLEANED UP, AND AS AR*EHOLES DON'T HAVE HANDS ITS LEFT TO OTHERS.
OUR GREEN AND PLEASANT LAND HAS BECOME A GREEN AND UN-PLEASANT WHEELIE BIN.:

i've been fishing now on and off for almost 40 years, and as far as i can remember the piers ect have always been blighted with the **** that anglers leave behind them, and it ain't going to change soon, first off don't blame the chav's fishing for macky during the summer months, although they do cause a problem it's only for a few months, the rest of the time it's us who fish the winter months that cause the biggest problem, and lets be honest here and hold our hands up, who has't left some **** on a mark when it's freezing and ****ing down and all you want to do is pack up and go home at 3 in the morning.and i'd be a lier if i said i havent [although i make sure the rubbish i leave is biodegradable]never line or plastics but that is really no excuse,you who have committed no sin can cast the first stone.

I'm not taring everyone with the same brush so to speak but I find it amazing that the very people that you would think that would be concerned for the environment would be fishermen and as it has been said they are the culprits on many occasions being obvious by the fishing related rubbish left behind so its not always the chavs.

Being more inland myself only the other day I had a visitor from down south and was showing him our beautiful countryside as well as fantastic coastline that I don't believe is promoted enough to attract tourism and we had a run up to High Force part of the pennine way to show him beer cans carefully wedged in between trees and stuffed down rabbit holes to stop them blowing around amongst other rubbish that was left after having packed lunches you might recognize the pattern.

What made it worse was we walked a short distance of the pennine way and passed only mature hikers and on return by the same route we where amazed to find rubbish on the track that could of only been dropped by the mature hikers as no others where on the footpath so the very people that come to the countryside because they love the country are guilty of throwing crap on it, to verify there is a pattern Ive seen birds with fishing line wrapped around there feet inland as well as on the coast and most of the Chav types round our area don`t look like they could be bothered with walking far from home base let alone a distance of the pennine way
