I posted a thread a week or so back asking if anyone knew anywhere I could get some Do-it size 3 extra long loops. These are the ones:

Allan (Primoman) kindly sourced the last lot for us, a bag of 1000, which sadly is now used. I haven't worked out the weight in Kilos / Stones but that's 500 10oz pirks we've used :o:o

The only place I can find the loops at a reasonable price is Mattstackle, I placed an order almost two weeks and still no sign, so it looks like I'll have to try and recover the money via paypal, I've used them before so should of known better. There is a seller on ebay but I don't fancy paying £100 for 1000 loops.

So, I presented Bert with a sample loop and tasked him with flexing his skills of invention, this is the RESULT :)

Brilliant, I love little projects like that. Most people would just buy the ready made loops. A few would botch a loop bending it around a rusty nail, but instead he’s custom build a jig. The lad has skills.

500 pirks lost. :( that’s a lot of lead.

after the initial shock that she knew what a split pin was subsided...

Thanks chaps . Well for every problem there is a cure . . And as for having too much time on my hands ! Does anyone who owns a boat have time on there hands ? The design works a treat but it may need hardening ! So if anyone has any contacts I'm sure some kind of arrangement could be sorted if you know what I mean . Nudge nudge wink wink ........! I'm sure Keiths other 20 Pirk mounds of various sizes may need the same treatment. ! by the way Keith that mould with the pins in looks the Bizz . where did you get that done ? ;) ;)

Are you saying you've seen them on ebay £3 per 500? If so, I've been looking in the wrong places.
 
You know what, I didn't twig or think of those, been racking my brains, even asked Ian to try and scrounge an old needle when he went for his weekly tattoo the other day. :D
 
Day-lite machine oh yes i will sort. A video out on how to make the perfect set of day-lites once i get the machine back ... hint hint I'm sure that will stur up a bit interest .watch this space
