coarse lakes in the north east

Try silksworth, its very plesant and comfortable fishing with plenty of roach, gudgeon, small carp (stocked just last year),perch, rudd coming out latley best baits are obviously mixed maggots(preferably white maggots for roach). Top lake has carp in it now i think around about 60 in total and the bottom lake which has all the silver fish in has also carp in it to boilies, bream and tench also feature in the catches. I don't fish much down there but it is a good place to go float fishing, carp fishing however you need to purchase a dayticket of the baliffs when they are around they are very cheap. You can also join the club so you don't pay for daytickets and just show the baliffs your membership card. Just word of warning Mate as everywhere there are a lot of trash get down this beautful lake/s however most of the time it is fine.
you can also visit the website for further details and look at the quality of some of the carp which have been caught:http://www.silksworthlakes.com
There is also a niece lake the angel of north fiheries which again has lot of coarse fish in and again you have to pay for a dayticket. :) Hope this information helps you a lot mate, silksworth is probablies the best for sport on the waggler. Also if you fancy fly fishing go up sharpley springs which has various lakes and is stocked on a regular basis with big rainbows and brownies, bu the brownies you have to release and you are only allowed to keep if you buy a killing ticket and stick to the limit of which you have paid for.:) :)

Course Lakes

Course Lakes

Hi,

I do a fair bit of course fishing and have a few suggestions for possible places. Firstly, try the small lake opposite to Sharpley Springs Fly Fishery. Yes, the pond is a bit small but it is stuffed with fish from 8oz up to 15lb. Plenty of bites, possible to catch 100lb+ in a good day. Fishes well to both the feeder and the pole.

If not, Eden Meadows is another cracking fishery. Its situated just off the A19 just before Hartlepool. Its a bit of a drive but well worth it. Excellent fish, plenty still-water chub and barbel. Massive Ide and a good head of carp and silver fish. Well worth a go!

Hope this helps!
