cod or codling?

Cheers m8, av had a look around on the different pages on here and thats what most people are saying but they were saying 6 or 7 pounds, either way all av had is a codling any way haha, thanks again.

codling are immature cod - not ready to spawn. certainly 20+ yrs ago, it was very unusual to see roed up fish less than 7lb. but last winter i saw several just over 3lb full of spawn. this is indicative of low stock levels which mother nature tries to rebalance by younger fish becoming mature earlier. alarm bells should be ringing - but there are many deaf ears!

Yer that's my mission this winter dave, to catch a piggin pig. I know it's ganna be hard work with fishin at night in freezing conditions but needs must, it's ganna be a swine like.:D

Its areet man aslong as u got yasel a nice watm suit you can spend all winter out there alls i need now is for someone to give me **** loads of yellowtails for FREE and for the weather to be favourable and tHe fish feeding

used to be 10lb many moons ago

For some reason i work on 7lb and over Cod, under Codling.

Think that was the size i was told by some of the older members in our club when i was a youngun, many moons ago and have stuck by it.

What Swilsonstu say makes sense although cant prove or disprove.
