Cods roe

Try not to break the sack/membrane and just boil/simmer it, I let it cool down and scran it with salt, pepper and vinegar- its lush !!!!!!!!!!! IMHO..
Go and try and buy some, not cheap...

got to agree with you,
the roe by its self just ordinary, but using just the right amount of salt , vinegar and pepper just boooooooooooooooooooooooooooootiful

Thats the way my Gran and Mother ate it in the old days along with tripe sheeps heads and eyes,I never gave it a go.

Well I tried it this afternoon boiled it and spread on toast like dean said and I was disappointed as I could only taste the bread and not the roe

Will have to try it other ways

Put it in a pan of cold salted water on the lowest flame possible and bring it to the boil slowley as soon as it starts to boil turn the gas off and leave it in the water to cool then just slice it bit of vinegar and it tastes great
