poor cod= cod with nee money
Cod are all one specie. A tommy is a cod that is under the legal size limit of 35cm. A codling is a cod upto 7lb i.e if it is 6lb 12oz its a codling if it is 7lb 1oz then its a cod. A poor cod is a cross breed of the cod and a pouting and is a different specie so would count in your specie hunt the record is only 11oz. A Pout/pouting is a different species also but has many localised names north of the Tyne tends to be a scotch haddock or scotchie, travel to Seaham and they are called Blegs. Hope this helps you out mate.
