A lovely winters evening with the wind howling and the rain thrashing down I decided to go out and fish the Tyne. I picked up some bait after work from the new tackle shop in Felling - Moonfleet Angling which is dead handy for me as its only two minutes from work. A great shop, friendly lad and nice fresh lively worms. Anyway, I headed into Shields and ended up at Codgers fishing two up and two down from about 7.30pm. First cast I caught an undersized whiting then a bit later on an undersized flounder. That was all
The rain hammered down relentlessly the whole session and with virtually no bites I got fed up about 11.30pm ditched my remaining bait and headed home. No problems with weed this week, last week at the Walkway the weed was a mare but this week the water was weed free. Baits used lug, rag, mackeral, prawn and squid. Both tiddlers caught on lug tipped with squid.
