Just an update about the books availability. I've given this quite a bit of thought as it's not my way to criticise on line and the main reason it's not on sale more widely is me not living close to the shops and my laziness in pushing it. However when I was up between Xmas and New Year I popped into Frasers, to ask if they needed re-stocking (remembering that Frasers have sold a couple of hundred books). I asked if they had any books and was told no. I asked why and the lad behind the counter said the boss (Brian) was fed up of being let down by the author. "That'll be me" says I. "Oh" says he. Anyway Brian wasn't in so I returned later. I'd just missed him by seconds so the lad phoned him. He did not return to speak to me but did confirm that he did not want any more books. I left him my phone number (he has all my details on every invoice he gets)- He has not returned the call - I suspect he isn't going to.
What annoys me is that I have always, with every order big or small, gone out of my way to accommodate people. Every personal order from you guys has been sent before the cheque has arrived and no-one has ever let me down so how this situation has arisen is beyond me. I'm disappointed that Brian has been unwilling to at least explain his decision. What makes it worse is that the lad in the shop said that they've had loads of people asking for it.
So the book is now only available at Lewis', St Vedas Hotel, Game Fishing Supplies, T G Allen and Tourist Information at the Royal Quays (if they've any left). Any problems just pm me as Rod also has a supply and he lives in Kenton.

I was in Lewis's on Thursday 14/01/10, fairly sure he had them on the counter for sale! (small upright stand on the front counter righthand side).

Those in the know are aware that the only reason you're in the book was the heavies you sent round our house, just before publication - you being the smallest.............and ugliest. Some say that the poodler you caught that day was the biggest fish you've caught since you started shaving and that was when you were seven.

Without wanting to go into a tackle dealer slagging match, I stop using Frazers in Whitley Bay a long time ago due to personal conflict with Brian. Not sure why the man is in the business and dealing with Joe Public as his attitude is one that don't suit what he does.

Started going in there again, when it changed hands and Simon took over.

Anyway,,,,,,if you need a hand with distrubution dave gis a shout mate as i live in Whitley Bay and will be happy to help. Oh and i have a copy, but wouldn't mind it signed at some point ;-),,,you never know might be worth a few quid in years to come :-D lol.
