Thanks Will.

I\'m keeping a note of ALL the things suggested.

Been some good\'ns so far :D

As regards the \"fishing basics\" bit........hmmmm.....that\'d take a fair bit of work........but we\'ll see.
In the meantime, ASK AWAY - Doesn\'t matter HOW basic the question is......we\'ll ALL have wanted to know the answer at some stage.......that\'s what NESA\'s all about, m8

I think a regular get together would be good. It seems that since the comps finish we tend not see each other again until the January or if a early winter comp is arranged then in November. I know that we are spread far and wide but we could find a place central to everyone then we should make a bee(r)line for it I say.

Just an Idea.... :P :D ;)

Hi, I\'m a new member and fairly new to fishing (just over a year). Interesting reading comments and I\'d like to echo calls for info on marks. I am getting to know more sites but would really appreciate advice on where I should go once I\'ve got to a mark. For instance, I\'ve heard that Druridge Bay can be good for bass but it\'s a big place. Presumably some bits are better than others and some weather conditions are better than others. I\'m starting to understand more about these things but it would be great to have more idea where is likely to be a good bet before I set off.

Enjoying my first dips into site.

All the best,

Colossus

Hi m8, welcome to NESA.

Glad you\'re enjoting your initial forrays.....lol

Nice to see that you\'re happy to contribute to the ideas for improving what\'s available.......especially as it\'s ya 1st post ;)

re fishing marks, could this feature not be combined with the map section with a small write up next to the maps describing the area /acssess /species/tackle etc,
dangers could be pointed out ie parking at hendon, keep your back to the wall at blyth, rock falls ,flash tides etc ;)

Chris Kristiansens descriptions of marks are very useful but he mentions a top marks section a couple of times. Does this not exist any more? I can\'t access it. The link he puts in for Tony Anderson doesn\'t work. :casstet:

Could you not include a page where all the open competitions are listed with tide times and maybe some hints on where to fish in that clubs boundaries

Can I just recall an incident this year where me and the lads hit a wreck which gave good results ( In the NESA comp as it happens ) , it was in a cluster of several . The next time we went it was \"Box netted \"and never really recovered all season . Coincidence ?? Maybe .

Tony, your right what you say about wreck positions being available from other sources, however i suggest that the positions we have are never published on the site, for reasons dave has just mentioned, there is not a chance of me ever putting positions on the board and hope no one else ever would.
I would never have a problem sharing them with the regulars though via email or private messages, but all the regulars have the same positions and use the same wreck numbers over the vhf

Very good and valid points Dave & Bob.

Same reasons why I wouldn\'t like to see Bass catches from the shore gone into in great detail........you never know just who\'s looking in.

all good points lads but tony if you recall my first post on the forum was about fishing from the car for which i recieved a good response things like this could be included in fishing marks id like to see
1 name and directions to the mark
2 accsess for able and disabled anglers described
3 recommended tackle ie rotton bottom or heavy losses etc
4 trouble spots and hazzards pointed out
5 maps or photo if available
no need to go into detail as to what was caught ie bass marks

Welcome to nesa Colossus, hope you enjoy it.
The wreck and shore fishing database could be a secure sign in only,ie members only, suppose its no big deal becoming a member though, maybe 25 posts plus to enter a secure section, bit of a bummer for peeps that only read rather than post.

Stickin\' oot website and beleive me that is a compliment. Tiews with Port of Tyne would be good just judging by their tide tables which I used to get regularly.

Keep up the good work.

All the best

John

Thanks very much for the compliment, John......much appreciated.

I\'ve had dealings with the Port of Tyne Authority on a couple of NESA issues in the past...... with good results. It\'s always a good idea to try to build links with such bodies and I will continue to do so wherever possible.

Oh......and welcome to NESA, by the way ;)

hi everyone

Why don\'t you think of having a donations link with pay pal or one of those things and then peps can give cash when they want. Maybe peps could not make it to a event but want still to donate for the upkeep of the site, or for a charity we support!
Also you could have a link in shore and boat with links to buy goods via other sites that will promote nesa this way you could encourage more peps to join this site!!!

More comps both shore and boat would be good fun comps and charity comps!

:D
;)

how about a page for safety while fishing with some pics of safety devices and details such as where to get them ..how much..and wot they do. with a few reviews

mands

Cheers Claire & Mands.
I was beginning to think that ideas were starting to dry up, here.

Keep \'em coming :D

that not a marks database Jim lol, excellent idea by the way,i think the maps in the \"main site\" section get badly overlooked would it be possible to add that to the forum as \"read only\" but with the option to add to it via TC ,hope that makes sense.
