Could have been killed at Low Newton

Why should the lad move if he was thier 1st comp or no comp no excuses for casting at him regardless I would of waited till he baited up and cast out then traced his line and either cut it or pulled his rod and reel in

No matter how close he purposely aimed a lead capable of killing someone, Complete stupidity and no excuse for it, Many boats go past me close on the piers but I never aim a lead at them!!

This all day long if the lead was aimed deliberately. Big if.

This is where they were fishing from and I was between there and the Island

Can't understand why you would be anywere near anyone fishing from the shore what about if you were 250yds from shore,if he'd had a crack off power casting you were still in his range, your both as bad as each other if you ask me.

Did the angler shout saying he was going to hit you with a lead or just cast out and it landed next to you?

No the Angler didn't shout before he cast out but had plenty to say afterwards with no apologies.
I have been a shore Angler since the age of six and I know never to cast in the direction of a vessel in the water because of the potential danger to life and property, there are no excuses for this act

I think you have missed the point. We were actually on our way past the sea is free to everyone and could have either cast short , different direction or waited till we passed

is that mark accessable at any tide state or does it get cut off, looks a canny mark like and fancy giving it a shot, 30' of water anall.

Bad crack like

Not sure but think it was about half tide, lots of kelp there too and depth varying lots with the use of the fish finder

alot of rights and wrongs in this situation in my opinion.

Regardless of who was there first I think that when the lad is shore fishing the kayak should be well out of his way.
The lad casting the lead at you was totally out of order and I think it would of been best if both of you came to a quick conclusion as to who is fishing where and probably established boundaries without slagging each other off.

Just my opinion anyway ! Glad nobody got hurt

No need really if the yaker was just on his way past is there? I’d have just waited as any reasonable person would have done surely.

Tbh…otherwise, I’d have probably agreed with others and said you were too close in if had just parked yourself within 100 yards of the angler. I’d have thought the same thing, you got the whole sea lol.

In this circumstance however, you were certainly within your rights and I’d be surprised if the coastguard would have not been interested at the time.

Exactly m8. U are in the right all day long.that angler on the shore who has just turned up doesn't own that bit of water and has no more right to be there than you. I would class it as attempted assault with a deadly weapon.

Regardless of who was there first there's no excuse what dove of anyone deliberately trying to injure or kill someone
A flying 6oz weight travelling at speed will almost certainly leave you with more than a severe headache
It would be manslaughter with intent
& technically the rod was used as a weapon
So if he was standing with a rifle aimed at you I'm sure the police would be wanting to be involved

You should have got closer loaded up with a string of mackerel feathers & a 12oz pirk
& cast straight into the ****s face teach him a lesson
Tit for tat!!!
