Could have been killed at Low Newton

Today we were having a lovely day kayak fishing Low Newton until a couple of fisherman arrived at appx 11am. I was paddling past about 100yds out and one of them decided it was a good idea to cast a sinker at me missing me by about 15'. I had purposely kept my distance when they came along because previous to that we had trolled lures about 10' off the rocks.
To say I was furious was an understatement and quite upset to think some body could have deliberately targeted me. The comments from this Moron were quite nasty and the best one was why fish here when you've got all the sea.
These are the pictures of them obviously it was only one of them who is the guilty party.
So thanks very much for nearly spoiling the day and and attempting to kill somebody in the name of fishing......... Live and let live, eh

And people say the maccy bashers are idiots. Well done for not beaching and smashing their heads in.... Not sure i would have been so calm about it.

Not wanting to start an argument but why paddle past only 100 yds out. Most lads are casting past that distance nowadays. The angler on the rocks cant move but you could of! There was a big comp on today and you would have realised that by all the lads fishing. Casting at you is foolish but telling you to get the hell out isn't! This problem seems to be getting worse, jetskis, windsurfers etc. I had a dive boat 50 yds out on shield pier the other week that took quite a bit of braid and a windsurfer a few weeks earlier only 30 yds out on beadnell skeer. Ffs just get out at least 200yds.

Casting towards you is wrong but if he is there first then in my eyes your in the wrong, however if you had pulled his gear in it's potentially £1000 worth gone.

It just so happens we were going past and they had just arrived and we were heading further out, as for your comment ..FFS just get out at least 200yds you are just as bad as him

No he wasn't there first, but unlike him I like to get on with people and compromise. Earlier on we were trolling a lure no more than 10' from the rocks , that because we were getting fish going for the lures but as soon as we seen people come down we were moving out anyway a didn,t even get a chance to get out the way before he cast at me.
And as far as pulling his gear in there is not much chance of a floating Kayak being anywhere near a line with 6oz of lead in 30' of water 100yds out

wrong, i had to lift my rod today to let a party of yakkers go underneath my braid without close-lining there selves and dragging my gear...

No matter how close he purposely aimed a lead capable of killing someone, Complete stupidity and no excuse for it, Many boats go past me close on the piers but I never aim a lead at them!!

Thanks for that, I always say there are more friendly anglers than not and you are one of the majority I believe.
I put there photos up so if they read this and have a grain of conscience they might realise what an unbelievably dangerous thing to do to a complete stranger. Lets hope they are members of a club and they can be named and shamed. The photos are poor quality because I had to zoom in quite a bit so not too obvious who they are but one of them had a white Terrier with him that was constantly barking if that can help them to be identified

You aim a lead at someone on the water, hit them, they die you go to jail for 25years. No matter what excuse you think you have, you don't. Simple in th eyes of the law. Don't get me wrong, some yakkers and boats come in way too close but once you start deliberately or recklessly throwing stuff at them you in line for a section 18 wounding or murder sentence.

I was in two minds to call the Police, thats how close it was but new they probably wouldn't be interested

Lads will certainly put a bait 100yds plus but that doesn't give anyone the right to try and cause them serious I jury by lobbing leads at them. Hold your cast for a minute and the yaks will be long gone...
