Missed my club match on monday so decided to have a few chucks last night. Went to the Gunpits in what i thought was quite a thick fog with light drizzle but could see the sea below. Thought the sea might have been bigger than what it was so wasnt very optimistic, had a few bites that were just one hit then nowt i fished til high tide and decided to have a couple of daft chucks at North Row Ends on the way home, i got as far as the Whitburn lodge pub and then realised that the fog was getting really bad. I crawled up to the turning and pulled up...i couldnt sea a bat! Walked down to the point and only got there by following the kerb! For those of you who know the mark imagine sitting on the white rail on the point and not being able to sea the edge of the cliff, it was that bad. I only had one cast and ended up pulling in a huge rockling. It was very daunting being unable see anything around you and hearing the waves beneath me and knowing that your high up, if i had been on a flat beach it would have been very dangerous as it was so disorientating. Enjoyed the night but disapointed there wasnt any decent fish about.
