Craster Harbur and Surrounding Area

Hi

I am coming up to Craster on holiday next Saturday, (2nd April 2011) for a week. Can anyone tell me how it is fishing, where I should fish and at waht time on the tide i should fish.

I can only get out for a couple of hours at a time........wife and kids calling!

sorry Ian but there has been very little caught, you could always try the harbour with light gear and have some fun with the coalies (most undersized I am afraid) on float tackle. Or you could try your patients off the rock ends for a codling.

Thanks, thats a shame. I fancy my hand at catching some codling as it has been so pour down south. Whats the Blackhole like? Whats thew best tide to fish? I presume lug and crab will do for both codling and coalies?

black hole is a rotten bottom shot as its heavy going, crab n lug will be fine and fish it half tide down and 1 up m8

Thanks - It sounds like it is generally slow everywhere at the moment. Do you know much about the flatties off the beach?

go a bit further north to beadnel beach should provide you with flatty sport.
rag and maccy strip and your sorted.

Great, thats not far considering i have to travel 2 hours back at home. Any particular part, fishng low tide?

Embleton beach is always worth a chuck if you're after flatties. Same bait as Beadnell, don't cast too far out.
