I have seen lads fish off the pier where Douggie has his boat. They fish under the concrete roof part out into the channel. Another good spot is when you go into harbour walk to first gates in front of the houses leading to castle over the fields.
To your right of the gate walk down rocks and fish into this ground some canny gullies. Use rotten bottoms though.
Mick.
You can fish from the harbour up to the castle its thick kelp all the way along. Two and half hrs ebb 2hrs flood the best but you can fish the tide right through in places, the same applies to the south side of the harbour.
You can get on the island on the south side of the harbour a couple of hours before low but watch as you don't get cut off on the flood, not sure how long you can get on there as its a long time since i've fished the island
There is a good gully you can fish behind the pier with the concrete roof.
As you come on the pier climb over the wall and walk down the grass bank there is a gully there just cast short . No more than 30 yards.
Came be fished 2hrs before and 2hrs after high tide.
Hope this helps. Good fishing.
fish behind the pub into the water between the shore and the island to the southern most end. I waded across onto the island in an open comp and Whitey had fish from the water i waded across! Lesson learned.
Or the end of the pipe behind the playground

fished here last Friday, loads of good knocks but kept on getting hung up. a better rock fisherman would have had a bag full, we ended up with 1 codlin each both returned about 1.5lb. definitely work a chuck if you don’t mind losing a weight or two.
mine and my mates best place is cullernose point can be fished on both tides off the rock, your casting into deep water, only place we go for cod up there and the place we never blank search google for cullernose point, we going up on the 24th
