Cree headlamps

Mine has now developed a fault and it's never been out of the house yet.
I went into the kitchen last night and there was a flickering glow coming from the Cree headlamp.
When I looked at it down the lens there was a low light flickering away,I switched it thru all the mods but still doing the same thing.
I have emailed today and will let you know what response I get.
Bearing in mind its holidays I don't expect instance response.
Just my luck I'm I the first one with a faulty lamp lets hope this is not the start of failures with them.

Had the same with my second one...it's the battery compartment connectors...played around with it and its fine.

When this happened I stripped the lamp down and checked everything I could see including the battery connections, nothing wrong there.
As i said this lamp has never been out of the house so no damp connections or anything like that.
The good news is the supplier has returned my mail and this is his response.

They were sorry this had happened and it would cost me to much to return faulty lamp back to them.
So if I was willing to pay £3.99 they would send me a new lamp.
Now I think that is the real deal and very pleased the way the supplier has handled this problem.
I means I can keep the faulty lamp and now receive a new one in its place,I could use the faulty one as spares to keep the good one going, bulb, holder head strap, and other components.
Or just use it as it is and keep taking the batteries out when not in use.

Well happy with this.

Sounds Dodgy Hope Its Not. But You Could Have Two Dodgy Lights On Your Hands Instead Of On Your Head When Your Replacement Arrives.

Man purchase's light.
Light arrives but is faulty.
Man decides the cost of sending faulty light back not worth it.
Man decides to spend more on a replacement.
Man is waiting for second light to arrive.
Is it 100% ok or is it faulty when it arrives?

Man has either one good and one bad light or two bad lights this equals to having two dodgy lights on your hands instead of your head.
or
are these not headlamps in which case this will seem like a right load of b*ll*cks and dosen't sound logical.

Hey,I'm not knocking these lamps,I've got a badun but thats not to say they all will turn out like mine.
For the money I think they are very good value and as a back up lamp what more do you want for under £8 or there abouts.
By the way I tried my faulty lamp last night it worked fine for the time I used it,a couple of hrs nee bother.

your always gonna get one or two in a batch with a problem, least the guys offered you a replacement at postage

Could this be the tip of an iceburg, hope not for the sake of those who may have wasted good money and time waiting for the lamps to arrive.

That's what I said in a earlier post that I hoped this wasn't the start of big problems with these lamps, but only time will tell, but for the money and use them as you fall back light I still think you can't go wrong.
I was quite impressed last night by the brightness of the beam, and I kept wondering when it would start dimming but after 2hrs on main beam it still kept a good beam.
If I had a criticism of the lamp I would have preferred only 2 mods to the switching could have done without the flashing mod, because when you switch from high beam to low beam(good for baiting up with) to switch back to high beam youv'e gotta got to flashing next:D

I had a couple of headlights that had the flashing mode and it was just a pain. One of them had a problem that was caused by the flashing mode but you had to pass it to change beams so the problem happened every time you changed the light. I used it on main beam all of the time so as not to have to start messing about with it every time.

Jim.
