just bought a cree 1600 charged it up all day went fishing the neet it only lasted bout one hour and a half then went dull any sugestions should a let it run out then charge it from scratch thanx

I've heard of quite a few of cases of dud batteries coming with those Cree's; can't remember the model number but they're some kind of rechargeable pack. Only option is to get some better batteries from somewhere as those cheapies just won't hold a charge apparently.

my cree 1600 is 4 weeks old and the charger has completley packed in. sending it back and looking for a new light. although when it did work the battery when fully charged lasted for a decent session.

I spent the summer looking at various lights, wanting something to replace my trusty old Tiga. I'd already got a Lenser H7 which was great as a back-up or for fishing beaches & the like, but not really powerful enough for a lot of the rock marks I fish. There was something about those Cree's I just didn't like (particularly having to cycle through all the settings to get to the one you want) as well as dubious construction. I also looked at things like Magicshines, Princetons etc. & finally settled on the Fenix HP11. So far all I can say is, absolutely brilliant! Nice wide beam with a central spot (can also be fitted with a clip-on diffuser) and has gone every session of the season since I started using it back in August on the same set of alkaline batteries that came with the lamp. On full beam it's better than the Tiga but mostly I just use the two lowest settings - on beaches / riverside etc. all I use is the lowest setting of 4 lumens & I really don't see why people think they need a thousand-plus when fishing?!

All for the price of about £50 delivered next-day from the UK.

am goin to a place were i live to see if i can get a charger and new batteries for it how long did u charge yours mate

if you bought the cree that comes with the ultrafire(blue batteries),the charger they sent with mine was no good,it plugged into the lamp, charged al day and didnt work, buy the charger that you put the batteries into, fits 2 batteries, mine spot on,there about £6,never had any bother with eitherof my crees,i bought 2,dont buy the ones what take AAA batteries,im guessing they wont last 2mins with that output

my batteries are in a shrink wrap. I can’t understand how if i get new batteries for a new charger, how these batteries will now connect up to the cable which in turn powers the head light???:confused::confused:

I assume i will have to create the circuit again?
