So many rubbish examples of these about at the moment. I was fortunate enough to visit a couple of manufacturers whilst in China last year. Generally the cheaper units are full of substandard electronics and don't last a while. Without seeing them first hand its a minefield and pot luck that you will get a decent one. I imported a limited number last year, but I sold out within a few days.

I've often wondered if the people going out of their way to get the cheapest, brightest possible Chinese lamps are the same people who go out of their way to avoid like the plague any rods & reels & things that come from the same place??

I've tried some of the Chinese rods and some are excellent, some of the lamps are very good quality, problem with China is the consistency. You just don't know what you are getting. I know loads of lads that have the lamps, but wouldn't be seen dead with a chinese rod and reel. Guess its a bit like when we were back at school, you wouldn't want to look out of place with the unheard of trainers or coat on when everyone else had nikes.

A bit daft but there's a 4000lumen headlamp on the bay for £28.99
I use the q5 300 lumen and its more than adequate
