Me and my mate Dave fished from low tide for about 4 hours at Cresswell, just down from the boatyard last night. Was a lovely warm night and at dusk, I got four flounders and three wee podlars. Later on about midnight got a codling of 35cm. Bait was rag, blueys and some live sandeels.
Dave got two flounders and a couple of podlars.
I accidentally grabbed a weever on my hook as in the dark I thought it was the live sandeel bait I was using, luckily I dropped it before I got stung!
Was a nice pleasant night, only spoilt by the folk in caravans parked up who decided to burn a load of armoured cable. The smokestream was worse than the smoke from Lynemouth power station and we left as I have a bad chest and it was causing me breathing trouble. Apart from that it seems like a canny place to fish so might return soon
Cheers
