Crimdon - Horden info

My niece had her dog out down Crimdon today at low tide. It was packed with sunbathers and no-one fishing but the dog went and dug up sandeels from the wet sand at the edge of the sealine.

I was down at Horden tonight from 3.30 to 9.15. Lots of flatteis of small size caught and the terns were dropping into the sea between 25 to 80 yards offshore so there must some sort of baitfish swimming around. Perhaps the sandeels from just down the road at Crimdon.

Just to top it all a seal popped its head up just offshore too then made its way down towards Crimdon.

I know its speculation but if there's sandeels then there'll be a good chance of bass.

I had a bass rod with me and spinners-toby lures but didn't manage to get a take on one. Might try again tomorrow but at Crimdon and fish the tide in with chest waders on.

Get some rag and sandeel and go to crimdon walk down the steps where the "stone circle" is fish stright infront of there, cast no more than 50yrds, fire tails and small silver jelly lures on the spinning rod.. Worked a treat for me last year hand 4 in 4 casts decent ones aswell, been dieing to get back down but busy as hell with work hoping to get down there monday :)
