Fished the south side of the harbour, hour and a half before low water and two hours up. Only an undersize codling and a coaly, to show for my efforts. three others also fshing out on the south side, only saw one flatty caught and returned. lovely sea running though the wind made your eyes water.

at least u got out there mate, it's a funny place cullercoats, u either get a few decent 1's out or get nothing sensible at all but a suppose that can be said for most places though :)

Cullercoats is an odd one, I've only fished it once at low water but countless times at high from the south breakwater/pier. It's one of those places where I've caught good fish regularly - but never in any numbers. Usually constant bites but only one or 2 fish per session actually hooking up. I've fished there on and off since the mid 80's and at times me and a mate would fish all day both saturday and sunday and only take one fish each. The reason I do like it though is that when you catch it's almost always a decent sized fish.

Fish here a lot when i manage to get out, always had more fish from here and surrounding areas when the winds been southerly direction on a dying sea.Never had owt when it`s been a big sea.
