Cullernose Point

Can anyone point me in the right direction of cullernose point?

I spend a bit of time in Embleton but have never fished there. Is it close to Dunstonburgh Castle? Also is it any good and what methods should i use? I've heard mixed reports about the weed beds and the odd cod.

Looking to get up the coast on me day off early next week (weather permitting!) just wondering if its gonna be worth the trip.

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

If you follow the coast road heading north up there Andy you will come to Cullernose before you get to Craster. There is a gate on your left hand side and a layby. Across the road on the coast side is a 999 phone and an opening in the trees. Park in the layby and walk across the road and follow the path north through a couple of gates and along the cliff side. When you get to the highest point that is Cullernose straight in front of you. Just follow the path down and over the rocks.

It is a very over rated place in my opinion, only had the very odd fish from there. My idea for up there would be to fish between Craster and Dunstonburgh Castle as there is a better chance of catching from the Kelp along there mate. Just my personal opinion but hope it helps.

Do not leave your car after dark as I had mine broken into up there and do not try to fish it in a big sea or it will have you in, very dangerous spot when rough.

I had heard of a couple people that it wasn't much kop. Dustonburgh/craster is probably gonna be easier for me anyhow. The sportsman not to far from the castle also does an excellent pint of Timothy Taylor!

Even in the winter after a big hooley it does nowt anymore! Still....it keeps the ne'r do wells away from the more productive marks.....Temporarily anyway. Apparently according to reports theres been a lot of 20-30lb bags of fish taken up our way???????Hard pushed to get that in the winter.
