Hi lads iv just got back from cullernose point me and 3 mates fished from 5pm to around 9pm all baits used and not even a bite between us and the same went for the other 8 lads that were on there from 8 in the morning a very poor trip :(

It's a strange place that Darren, I think I have had more blanks per visit there than anywhere else mate. I have caught when it has been flat and blanked loads when it has looked perfect.

Jim.

Cullernose!

Just a little advice on Cullernose as I fish it regularly, the best time I have found to fish it is on the ebb tide with a Northerly or North Easterly sea running, the bigger the better but be carefull as they roll a fair way up! I have had some of my biggest bags from there but as everyone says it can be hitty missy but if it is a big Northely on the ebb tide I have found you can't go wrong, I have found you will pick odd fish up on the flood but as soon as the ebb starts the change in productivity is like night and day!;) The amount of times I have been walking down to the mark and meet people on the way back up around high water saying the fishing was pants and they have had nowt and telling me not to bother but as soon as I have chucked in as the tide ebbed fish straight away, it is just the opposite to most marks as flood to high water doesn't produce.

Graham.

It's a lovelly place to fish though, Were lucky to have such a beautiful coastline to fish, even when we catch nowt.

i fish there a lot too mate, have probably bumped into you.

As for best times i, personally have found when i have had good bags that the sea was'nt massive , but a good roll.

and for tides, my best fish have come 2 hours either side of low water (up to 10lb)
saying that me mate jimmy had good fishing just after high on monday night. where last week it fished on the flood.

this mark fishes any tide mate.

A bit more info.
Dont go racing for the cliff face chucking due south into the bay although this is the most likely looking area and the deepest you are wrong;)
If you follow the tide back along the cliff you will come to a big boulder try and cast as far as you can but as tight to the cliff as you can this will put you into a lovely kelpy gullie ive had loads ov double figure bags from this spot;);)

I normally go for the point end. a cast of 80 yards puts you in water twice as deep as the rest of the mark. or if its too bigg i keep back, however i try to walk as far too the point as i can, have a good cast, keep my line up and walk back to the higher shelf;). think this is the boulder you are on about?? (theres a ditch to the left) ive had one 10 lb fish and witnessed two larger from here. is this where you mean mate or are you on about further back up the cliff casting towards the skeers visible at low water in the bay.

i know if you
