Hi all.
I have been looking at getting a daiwa high performance 13ft beachcaster I am just wondering if anyone could give me any info on the rods and what would be a good price to pay for one second hand?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Cheers
they were a good rod in there day, for fishing clean beaches i owned one my self a long time ago and they would chuck 150 gram sinkers over 200 yards so plenty of power , but far from being stiff , price all depends on the condition its in
Ok thanks for your info mate. The one I have been offerd has the adjustable reel seat on it could you tell me if these are any good with fixed spool reels or will it just slip? I have been offerd it for £40 and it is supposed to be in good condition have not seen it for myself yet.
40 sheets !!!!bargain buddy, like said above good in there day, suited to clean beaches, not a rod for the ruff stuff, from memory have a lovely sweet tip,but not a rod for banging big leads n baits out, although could/will fire a lead out.
Ok thanks. I only fish beaches and mostly pier will it also be ok for use of the pier to? Going to get myself it I think. Do you no if the adjustable reel seats are for use of fixed spool or will it just slip as I have heard there only for mainly multipliers.
Cheers for the info mate
Will be ok for pier use,if u get a pig it will be handball or drop net tho lol.
Reel seat should be fine,if it's slackish just pack with a piece or two of electrical tape or some shrink tubingshould be fine tho.
looks in pretty good nick, well worth £40.00
The reelseat (coasters)will be fine, just angle them so your are comfortable n not restricted.
Good luck with your new tool
I've got the same rod at home mate... Bought a good few years ago but still works well. Mine is set up for a multiplyer though and I think they are all set up that way. Works best with about 5oz... Has great bite detection but its suited to clean beaches and river marks fishing for smaller fish etc... I wouldn't use it on the piers / rough ground. Rods were capable of some decent distances back in the day... I've got a reel seat on mine and got rid of the coasters though. Well worth £40 in that condition
Not much idea about the High Performance but have the Daiwa Supercast which casts very well and is great for beaches/mixed ground. Will put a 5-6 oz lead and a decent bait out a good distance.
I'm fishing rock marks pretty much all the time now so at the risk of hi-jacking someone else's sale, its up for grabs. Pretty much in as new condition and made up for F/S.
