Daiwa rods....

I have just been looking for a new rod:) and have
decided on the daiwa TDXS 129PM as it seems
to be a good casting rod and a bit stiffer than
my century CCCld (bit soft), but the thing i
can't work out is what's the difference between
this rod and the other TDXS range:confused:.
need some help before i buy it:).

I have a 129pm, great rod. It's really a match rod with a brilliant bite detecting tip. But this rod has surprised me on occassion at how it can handle 6oz leads with big baits. Not for the rough ground but a good caster, locks great with 6oz otg but is really a whitey basher 'cos of the bit detection. Ideal pier rod or for someone of small stature..

If there's weed in the water or you need to hold bottom with a 7oz or theres kelp around..this aint the bit of kit.

Other rods in the tdsx range mentioned here I think are a bit stiffer tourney/casting/cod rods.

Have a go of mine if you want...

Just the price has got me for this rod
at £155 it mus be a great buy as the
daiwa site says it is a £300 rod.

Is it like the Tip Tornado Super Match
or the Carbon Metal Crest as i have
both rods and think that thay are
very good rods but i would like a rod
with a bit difrent action.

Its a light rod, 12foot 9'' with a spigot. Similar to your super match. Bite detection is great.

It fits into my rod line up like this, in order of pokiness,,

Tip Tornado lite
TDSX-129pm
Zippy Primo Synchro
Reelsport Longbeach

What 'difference' are you looking for, never used either of those rods u have...

You could try a Sonik rod. They are almost the same price.

But I've no doubt the Daiwa is better 'cos its a purpose built British piece of kit :) Bet the Daiwa won't snap either like my other foray with a far eastern rod, which is bad if you only have one rod with you, in the middle of nowhere on a 'special' evening.

Was fishing with the 129pm off Roker last night - lovely bit of kit, 2 rocklings wiggling the tip..even in the tide rip.
