Daiwa TDX130XM Beach Rod Info?

So I own a stiff conoflex for the rocks and a Greys bze for my summer estuary and beach fishing. Whislt I can work between the two in the winter depending on tides and winds I was looking for a proper beach rod and always fancied a team daiwa paul kerry type. There is a Daiwa TDX130XM Beach Rod second hand I am looking to buy ( see link at bottom ). It will be used mainly on blyth and the sluice beaches. My dad has the old daiwa whisker 13ft paul kerry ( blue and silver ) and whilst it cast well i find it a tad too soft. I was wondering if this rod is on par or if it has a bit more strength. All help with this type of rod ONLY. Sorry I am not looking for other recommendations there are plenty posts that already cover this topic. Thanks

Had one of these rods and it went over the side on Blyth Pier thanks to one of those cormorants, a cracking rod on the pier i had a 15lb plus cod on it it lifted it no bother but Davy Coates had to go over the side to try and hand ball it up, needless to it shook its head and went back in for another day, I found the rod very user friendly with plenty of poke a really good all round rod for beach or heavy ground and casting with 6 oz lead was its best option coupled up with a Penn 525 mag mk2, Theres a one on ebay at this moment and its up to £100 a cracking rod and hope you get fixed up with one.

got one mate and its a cracking rod,pretty much an all rounder,call handle the ruff but good on the beaches too

I fish with the 13ft paul kerry whiskers its a great rod. Never missed a beat for me. I understand what you mean about soft i always use 8oz and it handles it easy. and i tend to tighten down firm onto a cast out bait to hold tip still 8oz helps this allso. I just bought a shimano alivio 13ft beach for me 12yr old and my second rod. Its stiffer than the paul kerry. Cast release point is alot sooner in the cast but its ok. But i will go for daiwa again. But when i watch other anglers with newer tackle im not being but to shame using my old whiskers so ill stick with it. Looked forward to any reports on newer daiwa rods.

as stated nice enough rod, i had 1 for a bit, can handle the kelp and also ok over the clean. i didnt like myne as was too short, im used to a 14footer so this the reason i sold it on. also the fact i was scudded with it. i lost a big pig cod on it and after that day i didnt get another fish lol. worth about £150 if in good condition.
