decent headlamp

fenix hp11 or princeton tec are two of the best imo.. no need for mega bright million lumen lighthouse on your head
iv'e got four brightness settings on my fenix and about 90% of the time its on the dimmest setting

When on brightest does it destroy your batteries?

Might replace mine with a lenser h14r like

Yeah,you don't really need anything brighter than 150 lumens,whatever
kind of fishing you do,but i'm sure there are blokes who 'need' to have
the brightest light on the beach,or wherever.
I was at sugar sands,on the middle skeer,when some tatey,fishing what i
think is submarine hole, turned his light toward me and my oppo.We had
to turn away,as the light was blinding, and we're talking a good 300 yards
here! I think he must've nicked it off the police helicopter.:D

This is why I went for something that's going to be reliable, has a good run time and doesn't cost the earth. I've got to say the Princeton tec eos ticks all boxes for me.
