There are a lot of lads that do climb up and down there, but most ((including myself) to old nowadays) stick to the boiler. The boiler can be just as good if not better than Boulby and a lot easier to get to, the only thing wrong with the boiler is that you cannot fish it for very long.
But when you are pushed off boiler hole you can always fish Cowbar jetty, which itself can produce some very nice fish.4 years ago I witnessed a massive cod (its head was as big as mine) being brought to the jetty, pity it snapped off on the lift.
Cowbar jetty has had huge concrete blocks placed all around the seaward side to help stop erosion, these blocks can be either easy to fish off, or deadly when there is a bit of a swell, dont even think about fishing there if there is any swell. Stick to the jetty and bring the fish round to the harbour side.
