Well lads got back today for first sesh of the season. started in the Bay of Plenty-struggled with casting but after 15 mins it came back.
Couple of fish caught round me on lures but nothing by me.
Went to Pow hill about 1pm to try me luck here-again no luck-kept moving-and trying different spots-used black, glold fritz-dawsons olive-nothing.
About 2:30 went back to the bay for some comfortable fishing. Bloke next to me bagged up with his 8 fish all caught on the bottom-red seemed colour of the day.
I stuck with intermediate line and a balck fritz and ended up with 2 rainbows.
Some hard -but enjoyable work went in for these but i enjoyed myself.
My face also got sunburned.
Left 5:30 pm worn out.
PRICES ARE THE SAME AS LAST YEAR.£20-8 fish
Mick.

tis always a good day mick innit, 8 fish or no fish. the boys are up on friday but i'm working, gutted:( will be up soon enough though;)

Sounds like a hard day Mick but ya got rewarded with ya
2 rainbow well done for sticking it out i would of jacked in lol.

Bet those 2 fish got the heart pumping, it makes it all worth while and a tan to go with it, saved £ 15 on the sunbeds.:heartpump::heartpump:
What were the red lures that were being used, any specific type.

I,m not sure what they were-but would have thought some type of red booby.

Mind the lad must have had quick sinking line cos he was bringing it in after only a few seconds.
