derwent reservoir

Just wondered if anyone on here has been lure fishing up at derwent reservoir?
I will be going up a few times this year so would appreciate any advice.
Would prefer to spin, but may start fly fishing, undecided yet!
Also, would i get away with a size 6 fly rod?

Last year went up there bait fishing had caught nowt for 3 hours so packed up feeder rod and broke out my travel spinning rod with a Mepps spinner on , had 4 fish in about 1 hour all about the 1.5 lb mark all put up a good scrap on the spinning rod

#6 fly rod will be fine you may struggle if its windy though
