Differences between...?

Anyone know if there is a difference between a Greys Platinum XS and a GSI?

IE what category of fishing does a GSI fall into?

Have tried looking round various forums and can't find any comments of note...except on casting sites

cheers in advance

I've got one as it turns out...thought I'd won an XS in the last Opens raffle...cos that's what it said on the rod bag...looking at the blank it's a GSI :o

Got to admit - even as a relative novice - it felt really good to cast with coupled with a slosh 20

Is it classed as a rough ground rod? can't find any spiel on it anywhere...

Tony , ive got a platinum xs and dont think too much of it, the gsi is supposed to be the better rod for casting / bite detection. :)

HOW MUCH????? Cos it's good at bite detection? But not sure whether it's for the beach or for the rocks??? My life Abraham....there's the Jew in me lol. In all seriousness having had a new top ring on the old rod (Wallsendo - "I've seen the top ring - be very afraid") I've used the "big" rod since breaking it and I used it on Saturday. The three fish on the hill were howked in without undue bother although the shape of the handles on the scarboro tend to accentuate the cold, but more importantly the half asleep angler in the Barge Bottom, holding his rod, said, inwardly of course, mmmm flattie bite before landing the flounder. Just as importantly, for the first 90 minutes of the Comp I was cleaned off every cast with crabs but could feel it happening every time. I don't think you need to pay 350 quid for that. On the other hand if all the fish were 150 yards out I'd have caught nowt so pays your money.....

Am I rambling?
