Disabled Fishing Spots

fish the prom in front of the rex in whitley bay at high tide for codling/bass
the fish quay for on the east side for flatties, the west side for whiting and the odd codling by the ice factory (dont cast straight out - cast up river 45 degrees with a gripper and you'll minimise the gear you lose) cast between 30-100 yards and you can catch.

south side of the river wear under the wear bridge (access off low street / pannis bank from high st east )

room for oh 50 cars and handrail to rest rod on , in wet weather i fish out of the back of my van so cant get much closer LOL

hendon prom , 1/2 a mile or more long and easy access , new hand rails being put up now (april 08) are a bit high to fish over but is fishable (once again sunderland parks and leisure dept have no care for those who use the place and how they use it :( )

Blyth pier

Blyth pier

Blyth pier you can get to the bottom of the pier by car if you display a disabled badge ..seen a guy on there friday night in a wheel chair though it may prove a little tricky when the piers full

You need a pass to get your car thro the barrier, A blue disabled badge will not get you thro, You have to apply for a pass from some place in Seaton Delavel, I know this because i have had the pass for 3 yrs, the only other way to get thro is if you know the 4 digit code to lift the barrier, Hope this has clarified things for people thinking they can get thro with a blue badge. PRICEY:)

try the back of the market place in South Shields just past the ferry landing there is a mini roundabout which takes you down to the river there is a ramp,it used to be Brighams docks.
