Disgorger

Fished last night with a friend and watched him try to remove a hook from the fishes mouth with his new gemini disgorger by slotting it onto the hook and twisting the handle. I told him he was doing it wrong and showed him how to use it. I've seen a lot of fish returned dying because people don't take enough care unhooking the fish. My point is, I don't think these are easy to use and instructions are vague to say the least. Are there any better disgorgers on the market?

I've got one of them ones which look like a gun (£4.99 off ebay but usually £9.99). You put the end over the hook end and pull the handle and get full grip. It's excellent. If a hook is through it's gills I always cut my line and pull the hook through. It might leave a little hole but will heal and better than either leaving it in or pulling its head off
