Not been down this morning, had a look on the tynemouth webcam before though and it looks canny.

I don't trust Longsands webcam all the time...it's a surfy beach that can sometimes make a ripple look like a tidal wave...and when I asked me question it was stuck

Just looked there though and it looks good

...OK an amendment to the original question - what's it look in the Blyth area :red::yltype:

I'm on the train on the way to Edinburgh to join a ship in Leith and there is a lovely south easterly running, it looked perfect at Alnmouth! Gutted I am back to work for three weeks!

The wind is doing exactly what I'd thought it'd do...blew a southerly hooly last night, but it's swinging to gentle westerlies this arvo...looks like it's going to be flat tonight

On my way to work this morning I had a drive through Tynemouth and I can confirm that there is indeed a lovely sea on. As such I have had a couple of texts form sea based fishermen confirming this. Baits already ordered and am out tonight.

It is now 15.40 hours and in Blyth the wind has dropped right off and the sea "seems" to be dying off.

Judging by the above and what I saw at lunchtime at Whitley its dying right off...but I shall plough on regardless...got the bait now anyways
