Fished Blyth Pier last night 9.00 til 1.00, very little action … tons of crabs, I was nearly dozing off when my rod starting to rattle, winding in I thought at last, something decent … as I wound it up the pier it was a dogfish, jumping and twisting the way they do, after some difficulty it was unhooked and released … my second this year, the first one was at Culernose Point in August.

They become more of a hindrance over Burra Head after a while.
Just hope we start to see some of their larger relatives showing up around our waters in the near future :)

Aye we don't want them to start showing in big numbers otherwise you willl catch nothing else! Interesting to start with, nuisence after a while lol

Yep. Fine if it is the odd one but they can be a right pest. When I lived down south I had plenty of cod trips to Chesil beach ruined by spending the night hauling in woofers two at a time.

A Smoothhound run off our beaches would certainly liven the summer fishing up though :D

One got taken just a short chuck off blyth beach last week. I would rather catch one than blanking !!!!!!!!!
