On a more serious note though, my cousin was over there a few years ago and said it was great, but you couldn\'t leave your hotel compound, which will probably limit your choice of shore / river fishing venues.

Grandaughter and her mother went, grandaughter stayed here the week they came back suffering from severe sickness and the runs. Her mother had to stay somewhere else with the same problem. Apparently it was the swimming pool.

My mate at work was there at the end of May,had a great time but (as Rob says) were restricted on there movements and were adviced not to travel around on there own outside of the complex,no idea about the fishing though

Thanks for the info lads ,going over in Sept.was just wondering if there was charterboats for white marlin that type of stuff of which I know nothing about.will escape from the resort no problems,I\'ve been in worse places and will let you know the score hopefully with some photos,seems a shame to go all that way and not try to catch something...roy.

you might catch something, but it might not be fish. Hope you enjoy and catch a monster, bring the photos back

Was their in january and managed to get out on a \"big game\" charter, our boat did\'nt catch but its sister boat caught a 70 -80 lb sail fish.
We saw a few shoals of tuna and lost something big off one of the lines, still a good day out. Steady on if its free beer onboard aswell tho

Was told more fish are around in the summer time so you might have better luck.

Most villages has a sheriff armed with machine gun walking around, lots of drug and gun smuggling going on.

Beautifull country tho, just mind they don\'t use you for vodoo
