Me and mad rob fancied a night session for a change got down to shields pier at 4.30 and fished till 2 in the morning
Met Fishingmark. Outcast and Andy co all fishing the end
Fishingmark had started early and had 3 pouting and a dab 1st cast and a caught a decent dab then mark pulled in another pouting then on my other rod I got a nice codling just undersized
Rob gets a codling next about the same stamp met bob ( Waco) and nrgjim and Davey m and smogiesimon all great lads with jim pulling codling in on a regular basis some just over the limit
Then I had a bite which seemed to come and go waited then struck its on thinking it was a dab coming up but instead a lovely Dover sole of 28cm which was a new species for me. Caught on my home made 2/0 2 hook flapper
To be honest I was going to put it back until a few lads said it was over the size limit and that this is a delicacy to eat and expensive so kept it
Met Geordie uk and his mate who were having a little tourney between them which his mate won 11.0 Geordies 1st blank in 30 yrs lol
Rob hoping for a sole only pulls in a lovely big lobster which was kindly donated to myself
Things went a bit slow after that for an hour of so with the odd skinny whiting coming in as it started to go dark David northeast turned up another great lad and nice to meet you mate
Rob pulled in a nice pouting and I got another codling there was a giant ship coming three the piers ( the discovery )
It was a cracking evening to be out with some great lads and great weather
Then David northeast pulled in a Dover sole too 2 rare fish on the same night
Went abut quiet so gave David our left over Lugg worm and headed home at 2 tired and abit sunburnt
Can't wait to eat both catches the Dover sole and the lobster
