Four years of celebrating her birthday in the NE with a night at the local curry house, because that is what she wanted, I asked her a couple of months ago where she wanted to go and got the usual answer. So I came on here, asked your advice and after loads of replies she picked Spice One, which I booked.

Now out the blue she says she is fed up with curries and wants to go somewhere for "normal" food......................Women!!!

So guys if you can be bothered I'd appreciate a few recommendations for restaurants who serve "normal" food. Staying in Whitely Bay, but happy to get the metro and a taxi for a good meal out.

PS Spice One booking cancelled.................made her phone them!!

My first choice would be to try the Beehive pub just up the back-road to Earsdon and close to where you’re staying. It’s a country pub run by one of the better chefs from Whitley and also has some good ales too. You’ll need to spend a lot of nights out to find anywhere better around here; the portions are generous as well. The Beehive Earsdon ‹ Country pub and à la carte restaurant

Happy birthday Lynn.

Las iguanas.... It's in newcastle and serves Mexican and Brazilian food. Wraps, chicken, rice etc..... It's a cracking place mark but its always mega busy (which I suppose is a good thing!) so you need to book. Web page online. Defo worth a look at the menu!

Dream on tight boy, no way you are taking me for a free carvery!!

Wondered why he was hogging the computer all night? Now I know!

We are staying in Whitley Bay,so looking for a nice restaurant and I must admit the Waterside looks lovely, as long as he doesn't try to fob me off with a freebie!

"Beehive" looks good too. We will just have to eat out more than usual...................... unless of course he catches some Cod!

Get booking Mark!! :)

Booked the Waterside. A Monday is Lynn's birthday and that is steak night at the restaurant. That will do us. Thanks guys. :)
