Well I left the house this morn at 7.30 and picked up Stevie(codcatcher145) a top lad who has passed on some great knowledge about shore crabs, peeler, velvet well most bait really and mate your bait was class. We headed up to Druridge bay looking for turbut, we picked up Martin(muts13) from sunny ashington on way. Well Druridge bay was hard work we gathered sea weed for two hours although I just missed out on a 12 stoner but Stevie reminded me I could'nt weigh in surf board with the catch lol. Surfers too close to lines drifting in a heavy NE sea, plonkers.
We headed to Alcan and fished tide out for another 3 hours without a fish so we trudged for what seemed like miles to the Beacons and fished off the rocks where at last I caught the bonniest scopion fish (my first ever). Martin got his first fish on his first time out for 5 years well done the coalie was moral lifting to say the least. Finally at 6.00 pm we called it a day and trudged back to the car via a golf course fairway. Poor fishing lads but top company and a good day out. Stevie you pick venue next time and bring your lucky rod lol

which part of the beacons is best to fish and in what direction? always wanted to give it a bash but unsure on what the place is like for snags and rock formations under water. shame about the fishing but good company can always make the day!

We fished on the bend on the big rocks, we fished down into like a cavern that went out to sea it was at low tide. Wind was poor apparntly it was NE it fished better apparntly on a SW wind. It was my first time there the rocks were more like small cliffs with big creaveses all over, further down towards Newbiggin the rocks get more subtle and easier to walk on. Very snaggy mate but I'm told it will fish well in winter.

i dont know still cod hunting mate?lol we didnt do bad at sheilds like all rock marks this time of year are hitty missy mate gud shots in the winter like and hope u didnt touch the other lads bait haha
