Went up at low water about 4pm thinking there might be flounders and a possible schoolie or two. Fished two rods with rag. lug and mackerel about 1/2 a mile north of Cresswell. Caught a couple of big weevers but nothing else til dusk when the tide started shifting. Cast very short - as little as ten yards sometimes - and caught two turbot about 9 and 10inches long - beautiful fish to look at. Then as the light faded a shoal of coalies, just undersize, came along and had four in four casts. So, no flounders, no bass but a bit of rod-rattling and even a seven year old could have cast far enough to reach them:D (Haven't caught a codling since March 2008, like.)

Well done mate, Turbot are on my to do list for this year, I've never caught one before.

If it is codling you are after get yersel down to the Tyne, small tide on the Walkway should see you right :D
