dual carriageway

just thought i would put this petition up for the A1 to be made into a dual carriageway between morpeth and berwick. in the last year and a half i have been called out to take RTA deaths to the mortuary over 6 times. it needs to be sorted out soon and made into a dual carriageway!!!!!!!!!!.
the reason i have put this up here is because i know lots of people on here fish up north and i know how frustrated we all get when we get stuck behind slow moving traffic when we are running late or need to be at a fishing mark for comps etc. if it was done fishing at eyemouth for instance you could be up there in 40-50 min without racing. please sign

I use to travel to Torness 20 yrs ago every day in the summer and traffic was bad enough then resulting in drivers taking chances and some not getting away with it (4 work colleagues had a head on with a taxi and only 3 survived). Anything to reduce the death toll works for me.

there has been a huge call for this stetch of road to be dualled for years now but it keeps getting knocked back. the majority of people are for it but the green lot say making it dual will harm the enviroment and wildlife. i'm all for wildlife but i would rather see a few trees go than more deaths on the road. i was called out on christmas eve to take a man and wife to the mortuary, very sad but if there had been a new carriageway it would allmost never of happened. the goverment have said that there is not enough volume of traffic to justify it but my theory is that if it were dualled it would open the borders and scotland to more business as tracffic cuold travel north more easily. dont make a dual carriageway and all the business stops down south. i could be wrong but you never know

It took a lot of deaths before they looked at Stannington, lets hope this petition will bear fruit and stop any more unfortunate accidents leaving families totally devastated.
