It's well worth it. Summer is maybe hit and miss, but your best bet is to have a long chat with Tony @ Seagull Tackle. Find him online. He loves to talk and is full of help. The whole shingle bank can fish well. He'll tell you all about it. Two winters ago I have a great few sessions there in the winter. Once you get through the massive numbers of dogfish and the plagues of whiting, there are some good cod - I had fish between 5lb and 8lb. It's a spooky place at night. Apparently the cod hardly showed this year. Tony will put you right about summer but there's bass, thornies (skate they call them down there) doggies, pouting, sole... all sorts. Mackerel too, of course. Definitely worth a go - it's like nowhere else I've ever fished.
