Was also there Sunday. Place was left a f**king tip. Packs from spinners, beer cans, plastic bags, dead fish, discarded line. Total mess. It's only May, hate to see what the place looks like in the coming months.

Hello Gents - I live/fish in Dubai these days and we have a fish out here called the Hammour (I think Sless tried this when he was here last), these fish are are very similar to cod, bottom feeders what munch on crabs, fish etc and they grow to 30kg+. We catch Hammour on spinners and plugs, from the shore and trolled behind a kayak so I have wondered about spinning and trolling for cod, its not something what we do back in the north sea but Im sure it will work if its tried

Keep your reports coming, it gives us plenty to read during the close/cummer season here in the gulf,

Cheers
James

I have had a few cod / codling on orange or a mix of orange and black 'red gills the medium sized ones are best. Let them hit bottom and a slow retrieve fish these on a running ledger 24"-36" snood 3-4oz bomb. When the mackeral or coalies are not biting have a go with these. It is a good idea to put a rubbing leader on your main line of about 20ft 30-40lb breaking strain. Good Luck ;)

I was at dunstanborough on sunday and we had about 33 fish all on the float polock and coaly seen one lad catch a small codling on a spinner but was dissapointed to see the same lads discarding there empty cans of fosters straight into the sea, not good!

I used to fish here on a regular basis, not so much this year I think. I have noticed the increasing rubbish and activity on this spot. I always enjoyed the peace and quiet this spot was re nowned for as well as the fish, but now its always seems full and sadly rubbish strewn. So to save myself from high blood pressure the search is on for a new clean peaceful spot.
I can to be truthful see it been closed to anglers as Englih heritage would not be impressed......
