This Comp took place on Sun 3rd Oct 2010 at the Walkway Souh Shields, between 1830hrs and 2230hrs.
15 Adults and 1 brave junior member, took part in this Comp, in unexpected sunshine, after the constant heavy downpour, that had fallen for hours prior to the start.
Big things were expected from the anglers, after some good bags from the Tyne.
How wrong could they be.
16 anglers fishing for 4 hrs and only 12 fish caught.
The event started slowly,at low water, with the first fish falling to Alan Lunn, a 27cm coley, things didnt start to improve, until the tide had a bit of movement then the first cod fell to Ian Ainsley, 39cm weighing in at 2lb 4oz.
Bites were few and far between, with Mick Dunn and Ian Jackson pulling out a few small codling and a nice Plaice of 34cms.
Young Josh Pool (10yrs) again was into fish before his father Jason, landing a whitey for 27cms.
Well it could of been worse, it could of been raining or I could have been at work.
On the plus side, Ian Ainsley also landed a nice Lobster to go with his codling.
He who plunders the shoreline for food,Derek(I will eat anything)Sirett, went home a happy man, saying the kids can eat tonight.
