East coast fish angling

My name is Sarah Aftergood, I'm a student at
Newcastle University and for my MSc degree I'm collecting information on
rare fish along the East coast of England and how fish distributions have
changed over the last 20 years or so. I would like to begin with a list of fish
species that are being caught by sea anglers, especially those that have not
been caught before. It occurred to me that you might have such a list, and if
not you might know who else might have? Any relevant information you
provided would be acknowledged in the report I will write by next summer.
Thank you for your time.'

Hi Sarah, I'd suggest dropping a private message to Charlton on this forum (Alan Charlton, he's the angling correspondent for the Journal & Sunday Sun) - I know he keeps comprehensive lists going back many years of what anglers have been catching and I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing his information with you. There's also Sam Harris who does the weekly column for the Chronicle & a spot on local radio - he's on this forum too. Hope this helps you get started.

Gary :)
