To be honest lads n lasses I think in my opinion the goverment may be helping them by giving them a handout to get fishing gear as ive been in a few fishing shops this last year and there in there spending big money on fishing gear the sort of stuff we hard working lads can only hope to save up to buy.I know this sort of thing goes on by having a relative that works for the newcastle civic centre!!!!;)

Morton23 was banned from NESA a while back for constantly causing trouble- obviousely there is still some bitterness there and this would be his go at revenge- it does not suprise me that this small minded little w£%&*er is involved.

Hi Jim, No, these lads were ok, a little peeved off that I hadnt given them the fish, But I did try and explain that it was wrong to use these fish as bait or take home, but I got the impression that it was not the first time that they had done this, so wondered if it was the NORM for them to do. Even told then that the small codling were poisonous to other fish at that size, to try and put them off.
They say Education is the way forward!!!!
Anyway, left them a few frozen crab and blacks to carry on with, so prob saved a few more cod for the winter.
 
best thing to do, is say very little on here as to were fish are caught.

you know the area and all of the marks, they dont.
just use the mark name or nick name, dont state the exact location, direction etc.

if someone you know from the site wants directions, they can PM you.

i have told peeps off for keeping undersize fish, will do the same again.

i just said it is against the law in the uk to keep small fish, if they carry on doing i will call the police. they stopped keeping them for the time i was next to them.

dont be scared to say anything. unless they are 7ft2 23st russians lol

Back to this thread and bobo. If you would care to read back a few posts I asked for this topic to be kept to the undersized fish problem not "In YOUR OPINION the government MIGHT be giving them a handout". Those sort of comments are the one's we can do without. I know a lot of people that have gear that is a lot better than others but they are not getting government handouts. I don't like locking threads but if this is not kept on topic it is gone. As has already been stated, other people with an ulterior motive will be reading this and commenting where we can not reply.

Good to see that the people of WSF have stopped Morton23 from spouting his bile. It is wrong to talk about another site (or people posting on it) when they can not answer back thanks to them.

its all about education.

at one point when i was a wee nipper, we would keep everything.

once you are educated by fellow fisherman, you learn and start to play by the rules.

it has nothing to do with where they are from (shouldnt matter), once they have it drilled into them, they should respect the law.

if they continue to be seen at the same marks, keeping shed loads of undersize fish, then they deserve to be punished.
 
been watching this thread from the off - always a case of "should I dip my oar in?" as the topic matter is controversial and tends to go off on a tangent...at the end of the day people need to report these things, all very well banging on about it on here, another thing entrirely is doing something about it and ringing/emailing/snail mailing the interested parties

they'll sharp pass on info if they get 100/200/300 emails saying "there's geezers on S/S Pier every night keeping all sorts of small undersize fish"

one person saying something will prob be ignored - the more people make them aware and "hassle" them then they should sit up and take note (that's the theory anyway)

I think the thing with our european/asian cousins is that it's a cultural thing - a lot of them come from a hand to mouth culture (or have done historically before I'm accused of sweeping generalisations)

going bac to my reply bout the taking of undersize i never mentioned any body particular, i said so called anglers which i have seen over many years, taking mainly bags of colis with the( EXCUSE )its for pike bait ,its for the cat , its for the little old lady down the street etc, there is no absolutely excuse for the taking of them and if these so called morons took only sizable fish then maybe just maybe young kids and people of all nationalities coming into our sport might heed and follow suit and just take legal size fish

first of all jim i don't think anyone on this site has uttered any racist or inflammatrey comments, this is a democratic country and it,s our democratic right to speak on any subject we choose as long as it is kept in the realms of human decenty, even if it might upset a minority people in our society, thats whats democrecy is all about. secondly i have lived and worked and fished in many countries around the world, i have always tried to abide by their rules and laws, so why should we not expect the same in our county. we call the chavs who infest our beaches and piers during the summer months what we want and nothing is said, when the people we are talking about don't have a british passport all hell breaks loose .i am the least racist person you could meet ,but these people are breaking our fishing laws and we have a right to speak out about it.

These are your exact words I believe? Now then, could you please tell me where you got this information from as once again it is wrong. Did you not think to read the comments that were deleted? Oh no you could'nt could you, as you didn't see them.

You see there are a lot of things that happen on a forum like this that most of the members never hear about, that is why I and the moderator's are here. We make sure that any "racist or inflammatrey comments", are removed before we have problems with the law. I don't particularly fancy being prosecuted for someone elses comments, I quite imagine that you would'nt either. That is why they get removed as soon as we see them, why should we take the crap for something someone else has said?

You might also like to tell me why no one (yourself included) have made any comments about the post Rory (Red5) made. Not one comment about people from our area breaking the law doing exactly the same thing that has been talked about on this thread.

Come on, lets get our own act cleaned up and talked about in the same instance. You bring up the chavs during the summer, what is spoken about them is a completely different thing. The mess they make, the language they use, the fish that are left to cook in the sun and the amount of fish they catch. I can not remember one post about them catching undersize fish, can you?

To be quite honest Paul, I am sick of people pulling me for comments I have made on here when they don't know the full facts. Maybe it would be an idea to ask why something was posted in the future instead of trying to having a pop at me.

The people that keep undersize fish are breaking the law, they are wrong and something should be done about it. As long as people go on ignoring it and not reporting it, it will continue to be a problem. I know it has been posted by one person that they were not interested but maybe they thought it was just a one off (I know, I am only guessing). If everyone reported what was happening they would have to do something about it. I bet you could go on just about every pier, jetty or river mark in the area and see someone taking undersize fish at some time or another and you would find that most of them would have been born here too, yet we never have threads on here about that do we.

well said jim some folk just take undersize fish purely to prove to there other halfs for proof of been fishing LOL but not my style all fish even just size go back but 2-3lbers yes ok for the table but friends get them anyways keep up the good work mate

I understand where your coming from Paul but what Jim said was right, besides there is no actual law or goverment governing nesa (depending where its servers are anyways). The web is open source and people can say what they like.... but in a forum it has it own laws, and its own "enforcers" if you will (not ment in the way it sounds to me lol).

If a Forum was completely open to every comment, Acceptable or not then it would end up a sh*thole, with everyone p*ssing off everyone and so on and so forth.

This isn't a attack on owt you said Paul, because like I said I understand and agree on some points, but nesa is nesa and rules are enforced by mod's.
