Alright chaps . I've never fished for about 20 years. But my 12 year old lad has roped me back in any decent spots around the Tynemouth or Whitley area you could recommend? I noticed a few lads fishing over the wall.over the road from the blue reef aquarium the other day is it worth a look or not?

Most of the marks around there will be hard going with a 12yr old. Your much better off heading into the river for somewhere to fish. The irony is at the minute the river marks are fishing much better than a lot of the beaches and rocks! Not sure about north bank of the Tyne but I'm sure some of the lads here will give you a heads up. Most of them are easy access and comfortable fishing with the bairn. Best of luck

I asked a similar question a few weeks back and got some good info on the a Walkway at the river mouth in South Shields and also Hebburn Marina.

Walkway is perfect for fishing with your bairns. Easy access, save and a chance of fish.

If the weather changes I'm out Sunday if you want to join me I will take you up the river where its fishing brilliant atm

Cheers for the advice lads think I'll give the river a go to get him going. Cheers for the offer lug but I'm away at arsenal the weekend so will be slightly worse for wear.

Would I be right in saying lug would be the best for this time of year. I suppose peeler is still like rocking horses **** to get hold of this time of year.

Last few sessions I've had in the river all fish have come on either normal blow lug or black lug baits. I've used frozen peeler crab and not got a touch. If you find some worm that's all you will need. Some decent sized whiting in the river aswell so mackerel strip can be a cracking bait for them . Looking forward to te catch report mate. Good luck

you are best to head up river to walker riverside park or pottery bank,st peters basin,or green door st peters baqsin, you can fish out of your car at these marks and safe to fish, you don't need to cast far and all baits are catching with just size codling and flounders, this part of the river has fished well the past month. davy.

A nice safe mark for kids is smiths docks in North Shields
Not even a 2 minute walk from the car to your spot and should be fishing well

Cheers for the help chaps .been for look about today got a few spots in mind so should get out through the week. I'll let you's know how we got on.

take my two grandsons just along from smiths dock park at the boat yard then walk along the path 100 yards on the left just up from the marina
rails all the way along.
