thinking of having a trip to eden medows some time pretty soon
after spending the day at the woodlands on tuesday and after managing one common carp to 2lb and loads of small skimmer bream im not planning on going back up there until later on when it warms up a bit more...
so im just wondering if eden medows is still slow going at the moment or if its been fishing well any info would be great

I wrote a blog of a days fishing I had at Eden Meadows on another forum, It wasn't this time of the year but worth a read. I'll paste it in this post.
I normally do well at Woodlands, I fish the first lake you come to and normally average 5-6 carp and loads of bream, We have caught good roach to a pound and tench to 3 pound too. The rudd is good sport in the warmer months which will take anything off the surface.
Here we go.
Me and my mate visited eden Meadows today.
We started off at the first lake you come too which is one of the match lakes.
We both used float rods as ledgering is not permitted. My friend caught a couple of tiddlers on maggot whilst I changed from maggot to banded halibut pellet. After around 30 minutes I hooked into my first fish, Put a good bend in my rod and gave a good scrap so I was surprised when I landed a small carp around 1.5 pound. 30 minutes later I was into my 2nd fish which was another carp which was a pristine mirror at around a pound.
It went quiet for the next 3 hours with only knocks and missed bites. My friend on the other hand hooked into his first fish which was a nice mirror carp at around 2- 2.5 pound, A small 7 oz carp followed.
It was around 3.30 when we decided to try the bottom lake, The bigger of the 3 which holds tha larger harder to catch fish we were told.
After rigging up our cage feeders and double S pellet hook baits we began fishing a couple of really snaggy, lilly bed and reedy pegs (not sure why we chose these) But 15 minutes later my feeder rod bent double and a fish lept from the water, I took up the slack line and it jumped again and after a little tussle my size 16 hook was dislodeged and the fish whatever it was was lost.
After this we decided to move to more open pegs. We fished for around 20 minutes whenmy feeder swang round and my clutch was paying out lineto what felt like Jaws. I made contact and steered it from the lily beds, A good 10 minute fight followed where I thought I must have a doubler. I landed a solid mirror carp weighing 5.6 pound.
A couple of bream followed as we landed 1 each. We went home pretty pleased with our catches and enjoyed a nice relaxing day.
